This was our Supporting Urban Agriculture – A Community Garden Expansion project, sponsored by the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
This project saw two community groups come together to improve a local community garden. Thank you to the gardeners for sharing the space and allowing FruitShare to install a shed for our harvest equipment! The garden now has raised bed gardens for accessibility and improved (mulch and crushed stone) pathways. The rainwater harvesting system will be up and running in the spring! Next year the gardeners will finally have water access on site. Thanks to The City of Barrie for enabling us to be #wellconnected. Special thanks to Cultivating Culture for kickstarting community garden work in Barrie!
